Gray wins season debut at Clarksville during rain-soaked weekend
CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (June 16, 2025) — After a soggy start to the weekend, Jimmy Gray Motorsports made the most of its only opportunity to race as Jim Gray captured the 604 Crate Late Model feature win Saturday night at Clarksville Speedway.
Gray started from the pole and led all 12 laps en route to his first victory of the season — and his team’s first race of the year after repeated weather delays.
“We’ve been battling Mother Nature all season,” Gray said. “It feels good to finally get on track and get a win.”
Originally scheduled to race three times over the weekend, events at I-75 Raceway in Sweetwater, Tennessee, on Friday and Windy Hollow Speedway in Owensboro, Kentucky, on Sunday were both rained out.
Gray credited his team and key supporters for helping the Warrior Race Cars No. 47 get back to the track.
“Big thanks to Mike Nuchols at Warrior Race Cars for always answering our texts, and Bill Mahan at Southeast Racing Enterprise for picking up the phone when we call,” Gray said. “Jay Scott smashed our shocks, and W.A.R. Shocks still got us a new right rear Bilstein despite being busy with events at Nashville Speedway last week.”
The Clarksville victory also marked the first outing representing new marketing partners Powers Machine, Fanning Farms and Dry Creek Sales and Storage, who joined the Lynchburg, Tennessee-based team for the 2025 season.
“We’re thrilled to welcome our new partners on board and proud to put them in victory lane right away,” Gray said.
The team also continues to be supported by Definite Wellness and Victory Fun Park.
